Carnivorous plants revenge
Posted on July 01, 2008 by Bored Larry

Do you remember John’s post about carnivorous plants? Well let me tell you I’m an aficionado myself. I’ve been collecting these marvelous plants for about 5 years now. I got started at this hobbie because at my other job I used to have TONS of flies around the desk. It got to a point they were so annoying I couldn’t bare it anymore, so I decided to buy a Carnivorous Plant. I was looking for the most common one, the one we’ve all seen represented in movies and stuff, so I asked my local gardening shop for one. To my surprise they didn’t just get me a Venus Flytrap, but also a plant that looked like it had a bunch of sacks hanging from it. They told me that it wasn’t an easy task to maintain a carnivorous plant, and that they had no idea on how to take care of the other one that looks like it had sacks… So I needed help and I needed it fast.

The Savage Garden: Cultivating Carnivorous Plants (Paperback)
I had no other choice but buy a good book for taking care of them. And boy did I find the best book. The Savage Garden by Peter D’Amato is the bible for any carnivorous plants enthusiast. I highly recommend it as it helped my start my marvelous carnivourous garden.
Keep me informed on how you do with your plants. Good luck!
