I got my iPhone a couple of months ago, after being a loyal blackberry user for more than three years. I just had the little contraption! it really is a great gadget.

After using it extensively for some time, I have to say that I do love a lot of it’s features. Specially the navigation. The safari is really smooth when you are reading a blog, checking stats or just surfing.

However, the keyboard really sucks (or I suck when trying to type on that!). It’s really impossible to get anything written without a hundred errors. Maybe I should get a keyboard for it?

There is a range of keyboard solutions for the iPhone, although none of them is a definitive solution.

There’s the “MacAlly BTKeyMini Apple iPhone keyboard Blue Tooth”, (long name for keyboard for iPhone), but I couldn’t find it in the MacAlly website, so maybe they are not producing it anymore.

The 4iThumbs sounds like a good idea, but the installation looks like a pain in the ass. (plus the ad sucks)

Now the iTwinge iPhone Keyboard looks promising, and is more like a real keyboard solution.

I think I will try this last one, since it seems the most practical solution.

Off I go to back-order.

Well It’s been a while since I haven’t talked about the new iPhone dont you think? This time I’m going to talk about how you should take care of it. As you know it now has a back plastic cover instead of the aluminum one (this way the iPhone has better signal reception and it also becomes cheaper), so you should protect it a little bit more. I found this hard shell on the net and I think you should give it a try…

2-piece shatter-proof polycarbonate shell snaps snug around your iPhone

EasyDock closure allows quick charging & syncing

Rigid screen protector guards touchscreen, allows control of your iPhone

Premium cleaning cloth included for proper care of your iPhone

If you really want a smart phone, forget about iPhone and get a BlackBerry. I can think of at leat 10 reasons Why the iPhone is STILL NO BlackBerry!

Blackberry has it all, starting with a REAL keyboard, real sincronization, Bluetooth and much more. Why, it even has Copy & Paste! (I am being sarcastic here).

Now, the new version of Blackberry is just around the corner, code named “Storm”. I can really wait to get my hands in this beauty.

Not much information on the new BlackBerry Storm, I only found a reference to it in Gizmodo

Staying Connected
With BlackBerry’s push email technology, your email will find you without having to initiate a connection. BlackBerry devices are designed to remain on and continuously connected to the wireless network, notifying you as new email arrives. In addition to the text, you can also receive and view attachments in a wide range of popular file formats, including Microsoft Office, Corel WordPerfect, and Adobe PDF.

Browse the web with the integrated, full-featured browser, which quickly and efficiently displays HTML pages as well as enables you to set up RSS feeds to stay connected to up-to-the-minute news and blog posts. And keep up with your contacts using a variety of instant message (IM) networks, including the integrated Blackberry Messenger as well as downloadable clients for Google Talk, Yahoo! Messenger, and Lotus Sametime.

For corporate users, the Curve delivers all the enterprise email and messaging capabilities you’ve come to expect. It’s supported on BlackBerry Internet Service, giving you access to up to 10 work or personal email accounts (including most popular ISP email accounts), as well as BlackBerry Enterprise Server, enabling advanced security and IT administration within IBM Lotus Domino, Microsoft Exchange and Novell GroupWise environments.

So, what does a Bored IT needs a Blackberry for? I started monitoring my servers (I am a control freak), but now I let my dedicated server provider do the dirty job for me. Still, the thing looks great on my desk!

Well the answer to this is quite simple, Yes you can! (No pre-electoral pun intended). I’ve being this a try and it seems to work pretty well.

You should try it to. Here’s a cheap solar panel if you want to start out saving when you power your gadgets.
Look for it under soldius solar charger

A recently published patent application discovered by MacRumors reveals that Apple has been researching more advanced uses of the built in sensors on the iPhone to predict what the user wants to do. The patent application describes various scenarios in which a mobile phone could automatically change its configuration based on built-in sensors.

Apple describes the use of proximity sensors, ambient light detectors, temperature sensors and accelerometers to help determine the current state of the device. Apple has already incorporated basic state detection into the iPhone. When a user holds the current iPhone to their ear, the proximity sensor disables the touch screen to prevent unintentional key presses.

Combined with similar sensors in Bluetooth wireless headsets, Apple proposes some additional possibilities:

- Accelerometer to determine if device is being picked up
- Temperature, ambient light, and proximity sensors to determine if device in a pocket
- Proximity to see if the phone is held up to your ear or Bluetooth headset is being worn
- Audio detection to see if you start talking into Bluetooth headset vs phone

Based on a combination of these situations, the iPhone could change configuration. Examples given include: Turning vibrating ring on when placed in your pocket. Turning off speakerphone when holding the phone to your ear. Routing the call correctly to your wireless headset or your phone depending on which one you are planing on using at that time (based on speaking into, wearing or picking up the appropriate device).

One final intriguing possibility also described is using the docking/undocking of the iPhone to trigger certain events.

OMG OMG OMG! We are just 3 days away from one of the biggest events in the year, Apple’s WWDC Keynote, here’s what Steve Jobs himself is supposed to present:

Rumor roll call: 3G iPhone: check. Mid-range Mac desktop: check. Tablet MacBook: check. Tablet iPod touch: check. New MacBook Pros: check. Wait. You do realize that this is WWDC, and Apple usually only announces one, maybe two new pieces of hardware, right? They really just tend to focus on the software being that it’s their, um, worldwide developer conference. (iPhone 2.0 firmware: check. OS X 10.6: check. Me.com: check.) Whatever, set your alarm clocks because we’ll be there blowing it out live.

Where you need to be:
Steve Jobs WWDC 2008 keynote – live coverage

En Español:

What time to post the GO AWAY note on your door on Monday, the 9th. (Leave more time zones in comments!)
07:00AM – Hawaii
10:00AM – Pacific
11:00AM – Mountain
12:00PM – Central
07:00PM – Paris
02:00AM – Tokyo (June 10th)

Also, how do you want us to write this thing up? We usually do the latest updates at the bottom (so it reads like anything else — top to bottom); at Macworld we polled and did newest updates at the top, and a lot of people told us afterward that they preferred it the old way. So, what say you?

The i-Condom offers everything the average geek may ever want: iMemory to remember your penis size, iLight that realy shines up the ocasion, iFood, for savoring that special moment, even the iTree, from a rare amazon tree for err,.. you just have to read it.

The recording is just hilarious, made in a perfect “Steve Jobs” mimic.

Of course, the i-condom is just an elaborate joke to invite people to signup at www.superlovers.ru, but the effort put into developing the site is surprising. Talk about viral marketing. The only thing I couldn’t understand is why send people to a russian site (not even an english version).

Anyway, I just had to “order” my first 100 pack!

Wow, I can’t wait to get a hold on one of this nifty gadgets. There’s been so many rumors around it that I decided to resume all of them in this post, hey after all I have all the free time I can have (thanx to Liquidweb’s dedicated servers and great service).

Here is something I found at macrumors

Today, a rumor about a 22% thinner 3G iPhone with GPS priced at $200 hit the Mac web. In looking back, however, this is not the first time we’ve heard this exact set of specifications.

On April 29th, Scott Mortiz first reported on the possibility of a $200 subsidy from AT&T for the 3G iPhone. He said it would be priced at $399 (8GB) and $499 (16GB), but after a $200 subsidy, these prices would fall to $199 and $299, respectively. Moritz also specifically said that the new iPhone will be 2.5mm thinner than the current iPhone, which happens to work out to 22% thinner (2.5mm/11.6mm), corresponding nicely to Kahney’s 22% thinner figure. Kahney and Moritz diverge on the capacity of the iPhone, however, as Kahney claims 16GB and 32GB sizes for the new iPhone. Regardless, this paints a picture of the following possible “thin iPhone”:

Thin iPhone

• $199 (8GB or 16GB), $299 (16GB or 32GB), possibly subsidized by AT&T • 3G, GPS, 22% thinner

• Possible longer battery However, it’s also clear that there’s another set of rumors circulating which are also consistent with each other. The so-called “thick iPhone” rumor started at Engadget and depicted in the XSKN case designs.

Thick iPhone

• 3G, GPS, slightly thicker

• Glossy black, rounded back

• Non-recessed headphone jack, additional sensor? If you add in recent whispers of high end pricing of the 16GB ($499) and 32GB ($699) models, this introduces the possibility that these rumors together could represent a range of iPhone models. Both Thick and Thin?

• $399 (8GB), $499 (16GB), $699 (32GB) retail prices

• Possible $200 subsidy bringing prices to $199 (8GB), $299 (16GB), $499 (32GB) • 3GB, GPS, ? Video Conferencing

• Low capacity models thinner, high capacity models thicker Of course, alternatively, one or none of these rumors could be true. As we’ve said before, Apple has been known to purposefully spread misinformation in order to confuse the rumor mill. Official announcements are expected next week during the Worldwide Developer Conference keynote which takes place on Monday, June 9th, 2008.
